Christos Kalpakidis

My work engages with central questions in contemporary philosophy, with a focus on philosophy of mind, phenomenology, existentialism, and ontology. I hold a PhD (Summa cum laude) from the University of Bonn and am currently Lecturer in Philosophy of Mind at the University of Crete and a Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Athens.

I am also interested in the intersections of existentialism with Marxism and contemporary debates in cognitive science and AI.

Please feel free to contact me or learn more about my research and teaching.

Phenomenology Existentialism Philosophy of Mind Ontology Philosophy of Action Sartre

My research engages primarily with Sartre's early philosophy — Being and Nothingness, the Transcendence of the Ego, and his early phenomenological writings — focusing on the relationship between freedom, realism, and consciousness. I situate this work within broader debates in post-Kantian philosophy, including German Idealism, Wittgenstein, and contemporary philosophy of mind.
